Spring Trends: Wet Look Smokey Eye

Time for a cool and modern spring trend – wet look eyes!

I started off with a Lisa Eldridge inspired smokey eye. It’s the full whammy: easy, edgy, and an ode to gorgeous smoked jewel tones.

As Lisa instructs, I slapped a black gel liner onto my lid, blended that up into the crease, and added semi random blobs of garish shimmery shades!

Hey the thing might look beaten up, but I still adore my 88 shimmer palette to pieces!

Finishing off, I dabbed some Hema clear gloss on all the high points – my cheekbones, brows, browbone, and lid.
Avoid the crease if you don’t want eyeshadow slipping and sliding all over – but if you’re feeling adventurous, go for it!

No more than a bit of Gosh bronzer went around the face, and the brows were lightly shaped with the Essence brow kit and gel.
The lip combo i’m wearing is my favorite one at the moment!

Messy smokey eyes give me such a sassy, don’t give a hoot – sensation, heehee. And this one in particular will liven up your lookers for sure. Both with and without the gloss.
Try it out and let me know how many flirty gazes you threw around!

  1. Beautiful! Love the colors

  2. wauw wat bijzonder! erg mooi gedaan

  3. Absolutely loving this look on you! I think it looks gorgeous, not beaten up but I’m a sucker for intertwining colors. :)

  4. Hey Anouchka, WOW this is bright! And dramatic! I wonder if I can ever do something like this!

  5. Wow!! Ik vind hem echt super gewaagd, heel tof! Die aqua-kleur in je ooghoek is echt prachtig!

  6. I like the colors, specially the turquoise shade is wonderful!

  7. It’s a great look for you!!!!! I swear, you can wear any color well.

    • Rumpy, hi! Challenge accepted, wear all the colors! But do I feel loads of people can and that’s why Lisa is so wonderful. She basically says of course you can wear that shadow, balance it out with this blush. It’s one big painting game!

  8. Love the butterfly look – goes well with some of the painterly blouses and t-shirts for this spring. Never thought of smudging on the liner and putting color over it – so much easier than trying to get a straight line
